About
Short and accessible resort course kept in immaculate condition
North Hill Golf Club was designed by a local Thai designer and began life as a 9-hole golf course before being expanded to a full 18-hole course in 2014. The greens, fairways, bunkers and even the rough are kept to a very high standard, such that it feels like playing on a professional tournament quality golf course. A short course, the emphasis is on shot placement rather than distance off the tee, so you won't have much need for your driver.
As with many golf courses in Thailand, water plays a large roll in the design of the course and features regularly throughout the round. The first hole is a good example and you will find water along the whole of the right side of this par-5 opening hole at North Hill.
There's water in play again at the hardest hole, the par-4 3rd, with its approach over a lake to a well-guarded green, as well as at the tricky par-4 7th which dog-legs at right angles for a long approach over water. The 8th plays to an island green, while the stream running across the 9th fairway just before the green will ensnare anything short.
There's water in play of every hole on the back nine, notably at the peninsula green of the 11th and the pseudo-island fairway on the 13th. The 15th is a tough snaking par-4 with water on both sides and an approach that must flirt with danger, while the 16th is a short right-angled dog-leg where its hard to resist attempting to cut the corner.
Following the round, you can head to the clubhouse which offers a classy, award winning restaurant, as well as a spa, pro shop, fitness room, games room and even a karaoke room if you want to sing the night away with friends and family.
North Hill is a fantastic golf club, with a great golf course and lovely facilities, making it a top choice when playing golf in Chiang Mai.
Reviews
Excellent golf course...and great service from caddies and club staff.
Not a challenging layout but it is friendly and easy to play course. Greens and fairways are in good condition.Conditions not as expected
The tee boxes were, generally, in bad conditions, fairways were just ok and greens were just decent. The course is challenging enough having these conditions makes it more difficult. Driving range only opens at 8! So since my tee time was at 7:05 am I could not warm up by hitting 40 balls.A very challenging golf course with plenty of bunkers and water
It was a a fun but challenging course. Bring plenty of golf balls if you are a high handicap player like me. These are the fastest greens I’ve ever played, so take the advice given by your caddies.Course Info
